Chief Minister Manik Saha visits victims, promises rebuilding aid as tensions rise after TTAADC results

Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tuesday issued a firm warning against those involved in post-election violence, stating that the government will take uncompromising legal action against all perpetrators.
The statement comes in the wake of violent incidents reported after the declaration of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election results. According to the Chief Minister, attacks allegedly carried out by individuals linked to the Tipra Motha Party (TMP) targeted homes of BJP workers in multiple areas, including Bidhyabil village in Khowai district.

The Chief Minister personally visited affected families, including that of BJP functionary Bittu Debbarma, whose house sustained extensive damage. He assured immediate government assistance, saying, “Swift steps will be taken to help the family rebuild and recover without difficulty.”
Highlighting other incidents, the Chief Minister further states the house of BJP worker Raj Kumar Debbarma in Kochubari was set on fire and looted. He also referred to vandalism at the residence of youth worker Dhiraj Debbarma in Hezamara. “We stand firmly with these families. The government will construct new homes and provide essential support,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister met displaced residents taking shelter at Chakmaghat ST Hostel and reiterated the administration’s commitment to their safety.
Taking a strong stand, the CM added, “Post-election violence is unacceptable. No one, regardless of affiliation, will escape accountability. They will be identified and prosecuted under the law.”
Authorities have stepped up monitoring as efforts continue to restore normalcy and ensure peace across affected areas.
