Tripura CM Manik Saha Calls for Review After BJP’s TTAADC Setback

Admits gap in performance, urges peace as Tripa Motha Party secures 24 out of 28 seats in key tribal council polls

Agartala: In the aftermath of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election results, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha states that the BJP will undertake a detailed review of its performance after securing just four seats in the 28-member council.

Acknowledging the outcome, the Chief Minister stated that the party would assess the results “very meticulously” to identify shortcomings and recalibrate its strategy. “Sometimes results do not align with expectations. We will analyse and improve,” he said, while thanking party workers for their efforts on the ground.

At the same time, the Chief Minister appealed for calm, stressing that electoral differences should not disrupt social harmony. “Elections come and go, but peace must prevail,” he remarked, calling on people across the state to maintain stability.

The Chief Minister also extended his congratulations to the Tipra Motha Party (TMP) for its sweeping victory, acknowledging the mandate secured by the party and wishing its candidates success.

According to official results, TMP won 24 seats, consolidating its dominance in the council, while the BJP managed four. Meanwhile, both the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Indian National Congress failed to register significant gains.

The TTAADC, which governs nearly two-thirds of Tripura’s geographical area, remains a crucial political institution, making the outcome a significant moment in the state’s evolving political landscape.
