The court is expected to deliver its verdict on May 28, while orders on framing charges against all seven accused are scheduled for May 26

Guwahati: Gauhati High Court reserved its verdict on the bail plea filed by Shekharjyoti Goswami, one of the accused in the case linked to the death of Assamese singer Zubeen Garg.
After hearing arguments from both the prosecution and defence, the court stated that the order on the bail application would be pronounced on May 28.
The case currently involves seven accused, including Shyamkanu Mahanta, Sandipan Garg, Siddharth Sharma, Amritprabha Mahanta, Nandeshwar Bora and Paresh Baishya. The High Court is also scheduled to issue its decision on the framing of charges against all accused on May 26.
Meanwhile, another accused, Shyamkanu Mahanta, had moved the High Court seeking bail earlier this month. During the May 15 hearing, the bench directed investigating authorities to submit detailed updates on the status of the probe and evidence collected so far.
However, the court did not pass an immediate order on Mahanta’s application and instead fixed the next hearing for May 22.
The proceedings continue to attract public attention as the court simultaneously examines the bail petitions and legal questions surrounding the framing of charges in the high-profile case.
