Three-Day ‘Zubeen Divas’ Begins on his First Death Anniversary at Zubeen Kshetra

The three-day observance marks Zubeen Garg’s first death anniversary with prayers, cultural programmes, Bhagawat recitation and Bhaona

Sonapur: The three-day Zubeen Divas commenced at Zubeen Kshetra in Sonapur on Thursday, September 17, as thousands of admirers gathered to remember Assam’s beloved music icon Zubeen Garg on his first death anniversary.

The memorial site, which houses Garg’s final resting place, has been decorated with flowers and fresh gamosas ahead of the commemorative programmes. The Assam government has also supported arrangements at the venue to facilitate the expected large turnout.

The first day began with a morning prayer, followed by a naam-prasanga scheduled for the afternoon. A series of cultural programmes will be held on the second day, while the concluding day will feature Bhagawat recitation and Bhaona, reflecting the spiritual and cultural traditions associated with the observance.

With a large number of admirers and devotees expected to visit Zubeen Kshetra over the three days, organisers have appealed to visitors to maintain discipline and participate peacefully.
