Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, on May 9, congratulated BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari after he took oath as the ninth Chief Minister of West Bengal and the first BJP leader to hold the post in the state.
In a message shared after the swearing-in ceremony in Kolkata, Sarma extended his “heartfelt congratulations and best wishes” to Adhikari and the newly inducted Council of Ministers. He described the occasion as “historic” and said the new government reflected the people’s mandate in West Bengal.
