Congress MP Rakibul Hussain targets Pradyut Bordoloi and Debashish Sharma over the Congress exodus, “middlemen” crackdown and alleged deportation of a Muslim woman
Rupahihat: Congress MP Rakibul Hussain on Thursday launched a scathing attack on former MP Pradyut Bordoloi and former bureaucrat Debashish Sharma, days after two Congress leaders from the Samaguri constituency quit the party.
Addressing a press conference in Rupohihat, Hussain alleged that Bordoloi was inducting people into the Congress out of fear of losing his position and was contacting several party workers.
Hussain also questioned the Assam government’s ongoing campaign against alleged middlemen, claiming that the “real middlemen” could be identified by examining the call recordings of two MLAs. He alleged that ordinary people were being intimidated during the drive.
Targeting Sharma, Hussain alleged that the former bureaucrat had been frequently visiting the homes of alleged middlemen in Samaguri and said he would file a case against him.
Hussain further accused Sharma of having “push-backed” a Muslim woman to Bangladesh while serving as Nagaon District Commissioner after she was allegedly declared a Bangladeshi. He claimed that the Supreme Court later directed that the woman be brought back to India.
