Senior officials directed to share records as Supreme Court-mandated inquiry into alleged irregularities gathers pace

Itanagar: Acting on directions from the Supreme Court, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is set to convene a high-level coordination meeting with Arunachal Pradesh officials on May 5 to advance its preliminary inquiry into alleged irregularities in government contract allocations.
The meeting, scheduled for 4 pm at the Civil Secretariat in Itanagar, will bring together CBI officers and designated nodal representatives from multiple state departments. According to an official communication issued by the Public Works Department (PWD), senior functionaries, including chief engineers, have been asked to attend without exception.
Notably, departments such as PWD, Public Health Engineering, Urban Development, Water Resources, Rural Works, Hydropower and Power have been directed to participate and assist the investigation. In addition, officials have been instructed to submit detailed information, in a format prescribed by the CBI, regarding several firms under scrutiny. These include “M/S Brand Eagles, M/S R D Constructions, M/S Alliances Traders, M/S Frontiers Associates, M/S Goleng Construction, M/S Global Royal Constructions and M/S Khandu Construction.”
The inquiry stems from the case titled “Save Mon Region Federation vs State of Arunachal Pradesh & Others“, in which the apex court ordered a preliminary probe into alleged irregularities linked to contract works.
The upcoming meeting is expected to streamline coordination, gather key records, and establish the groundwork for a deeper investigation as mandated by the court.
