Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister says there has been no Chinese intrusion into the state, praises all armed forces and urges the media to verify reports before publishing them
Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Mama Natung dismissed claims of Chinese encroachment into the state as “rumours”, asserting that there has been no intrusion into Indian territory.
Speaking to reporters, Natung urged the media to verify reports before publishing them. He praised the armed forces for maintaining round-the-clock vigilance along the border and said China, “does not dare to cross even one inch of Indian territory.”
Natung also said the Centre remains fully committed to national security along the northeastern frontier and that the entire nation stands firmly behind the armed forces. His remarks come amid renewed discussions on social media over alleged Chinese incursions into Arunachal Pradesh.
Last month, the Indian Army rejected reports claiming that the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) had entered Indian territory and established camps in Arunachal Pradesh, describing them as “incorrect and without any basis”.
The comments also follow the 35th meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) on India-China Border Affairs in Beijing.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, both countries held constructive discussions, reviewed the border situation and expressed satisfaction over efforts to maintain peace and stability while advancing the gradual normalisation of bilateral relations.
