Dipke claimed he was pressured to join the BJP during the protests, accused the Centre of targeting students, and alleged police excesses while calling for united opposition against the government
New Delhi: Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Thursday alleged that he received repeated threats during the recent student protests, claiming he was pressured to join the BJP and warned that his family would face consequences if he refused.
Addressing a press conference in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Dipke alleged that people occupying the country’s highest offices resorted to intimidating students instead of addressing their concerns. He said questioning the government and fighting for democracy and education could not be described as corrupting society.
Alleging excessive police action during the protests, Dipke claimed he met injured students in Bihar hospitals and accused authorities of using force against demonstrators. He also called on opposition parties to unite to “save democracy” and alleged that students continued to face intimidation after the protests.
Dipke further criticised the appointment of the new Union Education Minister, accused the government of failing to protect students’ interests, and alleged inadequate facilities for candidates travelling to recruitment and government examinations.
