Guwahati: In the wake of the Assam Assembly Election 2026 results, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Gaurav Gogoi formally conceded defeat, acknowledging the mandate in favour of the BJP-led alliance.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured a commanding 102 seats in the 126-member Assembly, while the Congress was reduced to 19 seats.

He also congratulated the winning candidates and expressed hope that they would work towards “progress, peace, and prosperity” of the state.
