The commemorative programme at Zubeen Kshetra will begin on September 17 with prayers, cultural events and religious rituals
Guwahati: The first death anniversary of the celebrated Assamese singer and musician Zubeen Garg will be observed with a three-day commemorative programme at Zubeen Kshetra starting September 17.
The programme, announced by his wife Garima Saikia Garg, will feature prayers, cultural programmes and religious rituals to honour the singer’s contribution to Assamese music and culture.
‘Zubeen Divas’ will be observed from September 17, with the first day dedicated to prayers and remembrance. Various cultural programmes will also be held during the three-day observance, reflecting Garg’s lasting influence on Assam’s cultural landscape.
The final day will feature a ‘Bhagawat Naam’ ritual, with prayers offered for the peace of the late singer’s soul. Garima Saikia Garg has invited people from across Assam to participate in the commemorative programme and join the family and admirers in remembering the legendary singer.
