With over 90,000 votes, Vijay Kumar Gupta maintains a decisive edge as Kunki Chowdhury trails significantly in the Central constituency

Guwahati: Vijay Kumar Gupta of the Bharatiya Janata Party has surged ahead in the Central (36) Assembly constituency, opening up a substantial lead over Kunki Chowdhury as counting progresses.
According to the latest figures, Gupta has secured 90,415 votes, while Chowdhury of the Assam Jatiya Parishad has polled 34,836 votes. This places the BJP candidate ahead by a significant margin of 55,579 votes, indicating a strong advantage at this stage of counting.
Although the final declaration is still awaited, Gupta is now firmly positioned on the brink of a decisive victory. If the current trend continues, the BJP candidate is likely to seal the seat comfortably.
