US President Donald Trump signals pressure tactics amid uncertain talks, insists Tehran must abandon nuclear ambitions

United States: President of the United States, Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran, stating that Tehran must return to negotiations or “face problems” while firmly reiterating that it cannot be allowed to develop nuclear weapons.
Speaking amid the ongoing tensions and fragile confidence, Trump expressed confidence that Iran would eventually come to the table. However, he coupled the optimism with a clear threat, suggesting consequences if talks fail to progress.
At the same time, the US administration has maintained a hardline stance on Iran’s nuclear programme. Trump has consistently rejected any compromises that allow uranium enrichment, insisting that future deal must ensure Iran has no pathways to nuclear weapons.
The remarks come against the backdrop of renewed but uncertain negotiations. While Washington has shown willingness to strike a new agreement, experts and allies remain cautious about the peace and feasibility of talks, especially given big differences over enrichments and sanctions relief.
Meanwhile, tension remains high following weeks of military confrontations and economic pressure, including a US-led blockade targeting Iranian trade routes. Iran, for its part, signaled reluctance to negotiate under threats, further complicating the diplomatic landscape.
Despite the uncertainty, Trump has maintained that a deal is achievable and could surpass previous agreements, positioning the current moment as critical for shaping future US-Iran relations.
