Chief Minister calls for urgent measures to address manpower gaps and strengthen the Irrigation and Water Resources Department
Aizwal: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma has raised concern over the persistent shortage of staff in government departments, warning that manpower gaps could affect administrative efficiency and public service delivery.
Chairing a review meeting on measures to strengthen the Irrigation and Water Resources Department (IWRD) on Wednesday, Lalduhoma noted that its organisational structure had remained unchanged for nearly two decades despite a significant expansion in its responsibilities.
The Chief Minister stressed that inadequate manpower had long hindered the functioning of several government departments. He called for urgent steps to address the shortages and ensure departments have sufficient personnel to carry out their responsibilities effectively.
Lalduhoma said strengthening departmental capacity was essential for improving governance and ensuring efficient delivery of services to the people.
The review meeting focused on measures to improve the functioning of the IWRD and address structural and manpower-related challenges facing the department.
