IPL 2026 Playoffs Schedule Announced: Final Shifted to Ahmedabad

Matches to be held across Dharamshala, New Chandigarh and Ahmedabad from May 26 to 31

Ahmedabad: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the playoff schedule for the Indian Premier League 2026, confirming that the season will conclude with the final on May 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Notably, the summit clash has been moved from Bengaluru due to “operational and logistical considerations” that did not align with the board’s standard protocols.

The playoffs will begin with Qualifier 1 on May 26 at the HPCA Stadium, where the top two teams will compete for a direct place in the final. The focus will then shift to the New International Cricket Stadium, which will host both the Eliminator on May 27 and Qualifier 2 on May 29.

The Eliminator will feature the third and fourth-placed teams, while Qualifier 2 will see the loser of Qualifier 1 face the Eliminator winner for the remaining spot in the final.

This season’s playoffs will be staged across three venues as a special arrangement. According to the IPL statement, the decision reflects practical constraints while ensuring smooth execution of the tournament’s final phase.

After 70 high-intensity league matches, the competition now enters its decisive stage, setting up what promises to be a high-stakes and closely contested finish.
