Drone Attack Reported in Manipur’s Kamjong Border Areas: Houses Set Ablaze

Suspected KNA-B militants allegedly target Namlee Market and Choro village near Myanmar border; no casualties confirmed yet

Imphal: Fresh violence erupted along the India-Myanmar border in Kamjong district during the early hours of May 7 after suspected militants allegedly carried out drone-assisted attacks on two locations in the district.

According to sources, the incident took place around 2 am when suspected cadres of KNA-B reportedly targeted Namlee Market and Choro village. The attacks have raised fresh concerns over the increasing use of drones and coordinated tactics in the conflict-prone hill districts of Manipur.

Reports indicate that several houses were set on fire during the assault, causing panic among local residents. However, no deaths or injuries had been officially confirmed at the time of reporting.

Security agencies have since intensified monitoring in the affected areas, while officials continue to assess the extent of the damage. Authorities are also working to verify details surrounding the attack and identify those involved.

The latest incident comes amid continuing instability in Manipur’s border regions, where sporadic clashes and militant-related violence have repeatedly disrupted normal life over the past several months.

Further information is awaited as the situation develops.
