Kohima: Newly elected Doachier I Imchen was officially sworn in as a member of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly during a ceremony held at the Speaker’s Chamber in Kohima on May 7.
The oath of office was administered by Assembly Speaker Sharingain Longkumer in the presence of several senior leaders and legislators. Among those attending the ceremony were Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton, Parliamentary Affairs Minister K. G. Kenye, Advisor for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources A Pangjung Jamir, along with MLAs Achumbemo Kikon and Nuklutoshi.
Imchen recently secured victory from the 26 Koridang Assembly Constituency in the by-election held earlier this year, adding another seat to the BJP’s strength in the state Assembly.
The swearing-in ceremony formally marked his entry into the current legislative term and completed the constitutional process following his electoral win.
