The four-term MCLA from Darrangajuli’s constituency was a senior political figure in the Bodoland region

Guwahati: Bijit Gwra Narzary, Deputy Speaker of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) and elected representative from the 26th Darrangajuli constituency, was found dead at his residence in Kumarikata, Assam’s Tamulpur district, on Wednesday evening.
Narzary was reportedly found hanging at his residence. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, and the reason behind the alleged suicide has not yet been established. His death has triggered grief across the Bodoland Territorial Region, with political leaders and supporters mourning his passing
A senior BJP leader in the region, Narzary had served as a Member of the Council Legislative Assembly (MCLA) from Darrangajuli for four consecutive terms..
BTC chief and Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) president Hagrama Mohilary expressed condolences, describing Narzary’s death as an “irreparable loss” to the community and public life.
