Hagrama Mohilary tables the 2026-27 Budget with major allocations for education, infrastructure, welfare and implementation of the BTR Accord, while announcing expansion of the Bodofa Super-50 coaching programme
Guwahati: Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Chief Hagrama Mohilary on Tuesday presented a Budget of Rs 1,58,831.32 lakh for 2026-27, prioritising education, infrastructure and public welfare.
The Budget allocates Rs 90,000 lakh under the Consolidated State-Owned Priority Development (SOPD) Grant, Rs 20,000 lakh for infrastructure, capital asset creation and implementation of the Bodoland Territorial Region Accord, and another Rs 20,000 lakh as special assistance for Centrally Sponsored Schemes. It also earmarks Rs 9,757.25 lakh for infrastructure grants, Rs 2,530.22 lakh for administrative expenses, Rs 2,794.44 lakh as a special grant, and Rs 1,000 lakh each for martyrs’ ex gratia and the construction of a BTC Guest House in Chennai.
BTC’s own revenue receipts are projected at Rs 9,131.42 lakh, against an estimated expenditure of Rs 16,285.94 lakh, resulting in a projected fiscal deficit of Rs 7,154.47 lakh.
During the session, Education Executive Member Rabiram Narzary announced that the Bodofa Super-50 Mission will be renamed the UN Brahma Free UPSC, APSC, NEET and JEE Coaching Programme, with expanded intake to benefit more students.
