Tawang, West Kameng, Papum Pare, Lohit, Anjaw and several other districts are likely to receive heavy rain amid unsettled weather

Itanagar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across several parts of Arunachal Pradesh from Wednesday, August 19, warning of unsettled weather conditions in the state.
According to the weather forecast, districts likely to experience heavy rain include Tawang, West Kameng, East Kameng, Papum Pare, Lower Subansiri, Upper Subansiri, East Siang, Lower Dibang Valley, Lohit, Anjaw, Namsai, Changlang, Tirap and Longding, among others. The weather is expected to remain unsettled on Thursday, with rain and thunderstorms likely in several parts of the state.
The IMD has placed districts across the western, central and eastern regions of Arunachal Pradesh under weather watch. Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely in some areas, according to the weather agency. The forecast comes amid the vulnerability of several parts of Arunachal Pradesh to weather-related disruptions, particularly in hilly and remote areas.
Heavy rainfall could lead to temporary waterlogging, reduced visibility and disruptions to road connectivity. Vulnerable areas may also face difficulties due to slippery roads and localised flooding.
Residents in districts expected to receive heavy rain have been advised to remain alert and follow weather updates issued by the authorities. The IMD forecast also highlights the possibility of thunderstorms, which could affect travel and outdoor activities in the affected areas.
