The planned Taj, Gateway and Ginger hotels are part of a multi-city agreement to develop eight hotels with over 2,000 rooms across India

Guwahati: Guwahati is set to get three new hotels under a multi-hotel operating agreement between Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) and The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), covering eight hotels across four Indian cities.
The agreement includes more than 2,000 rooms across Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Guwahati, with properties to operate under IHCL’s Taj, Vivanta, Gateway and Ginger brands. In Guwahati, the planned developments include one Taj, one Gateway and one Ginger hotel.
The partnership forms part of Adani Airports’ broader plan to develop integrated Airport City destinations combining hospitality, retail, commercial, lifestyle and leisure infrastructure.
Adani Airport City Limited plans to invest over Rs 20,000 crore in the first phase to develop approximately 22 million square feet across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur and Guwahati.
Jeet Adani, Director of AAHL, said the partnership would strengthen hospitality infrastructure around key airport cities and support regional economic growth. IHCL Managing Director and CEO Puneet Chhatwal said airport-linked developments were emerging as important commercial and hospitality hubs amid the expansion of India’s aviation and tourism sectors.
The proposed hotels are expected to cater to business, leisure and transit travellers, strengthening Guwahati’s hospitality infrastructure and its role as a gateway to the Northeast.
