The Congress leader expressed concern over alleged lawlessness across Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and other northeastern states, holding the BJP and concerned governments responsible

Guwahati: Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi has expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation across Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and other northeastern states, alleging that disregard for the rule of law is becoming increasingly common.
In his remarks, Gogoi alleged that people were taking the law into their own hands and accused the BJP of fostering a culture of lawlessness by elevating individuals with criminal backgrounds to constitutional positions.
He also criticised chief ministers who, he claimed, repeatedly made statements suggesting that laws could be violated, warning that such remarks could send a dangerous message to society.
Gogoi called on the Union Home Ministry and the chief ministers concerned to take moral responsibility for the situation.
His comments come amid concerns over law and order across the Northeast, with the Congress leader urging those in authority to be accountable for maintaining the rule of law.
