Assam CM Honoured with ‘Yugdrashta’ Title for Contributions to Assam’s Development

The Assam Rajyik Muktijujaru Sanmilan honours the Chief Minister for his contributions to governance, development and public welfare initiatives across the state

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been conferred the honorary title of ‘Yugdrashta’ (Creator of an Era) by the Assam Rajyik Muktijujaru Sanmilan, recognising his contributions to the state’s development and welfare initiatives.

The honour was presented by the Assam State Freedom Fighters Association during a programme organised by the body, which represents freedom fighters and their families across Assam. The title ‘Yugdrashta’ is regarded as a mark of distinction and is bestowed upon individuals whose work is considered transformative and beneficial to society.

According to the association, the title acknowledges Sarma’s role in advancing governance reforms, infrastructure projects and public welfare programmes that have significantly influenced the state’s growth trajectory.

The association noted that the Chief Minister’s initiatives in areas such as infrastructure development, social welfare and administrative reforms have contributed to improving public services and accelerating development across Assam.

The recognition also reflects the organisation’s appreciation of the government’s efforts to undertake large-scale projects and welfare measures aimed at enhancing the quality of life of people in the state.

The conferment adds to the list of honours received by the Chief Minister during his tenure and highlights the acknowledgement of his leadership by an organisation representing some of Assam’s most respected historical figures and their families.
