APCC withdraws 2022 disciplinary order against senior leader following direction from state president Gaurav Gogoi

Guwahati: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has cancelled the expulsion order issued against senior Congress leader Nilamani Sen Deka, restoring his position in the party with immediate effect.

In an official notification, APCC General Secretary (Organisation) Ramanna Baruah said the decision was taken under the direction of state Congress president Gaurav Gogoi. The order revoked the disciplinary action issued on May 18, 2022.

Copies of the notification were also forwarded to senior party leaders, including K. C. Venugopal and Jitendra Singh, along with Congress MPs, MLAs and organisational departments.

The move is being viewed as an important political and organisational decision within the Assam Congress ahead of key party activities in the state.
