Tripura Releases Rs 6.24 Crore Under MYYY Scheme to Support Digital Learning

Over 12,000 final-year students from government colleges will receive Rs 5,000 each through DBT to support digital learning

Agartala: The Government of Tripura has released Rs 6.24 crore under the Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana (MYYY) for the 2024–25 academic year to strengthen digital access for students.

The fund was formally launched at a programme held at the Secretariat in Agartala by state IT and Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy.

Officials said the initiative, introduced under the leadership of Chief Minister Manik Saha, aims to support students by improving access to digital learning tools and online educational resources.

Under the scheme, 12,478 final-year students from government colleges across the state will receive a smartphone grant of Rs 5,000 each. The financial assistance will be transferred directly to beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

Applications for the scheme were invited between November 1 and December 20, 2025, after the programme was launched by the Chief Minister in October last year. Authorities said applications were received from 40 government colleges, institutes and universities, and all 12,478 applicants were found eligible.

The programme was attended by senior officials, including IT Secretary Kiran Gitte and Director of Information Technology Jeya Ragul Geshan B, along with college IT nodal officers and student representatives.

Officials said initiatives such as MYYY reflect the state government’s focus on strengthening digital education and ensuring students have better access to academic resources.
