Statewide outreach to highlight achievements of the BJP-NDA government, beginning from Dhekiajuli and covering key constituencies ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections

Guwahati: With the 2026 Assembly elections approaching, the Bharatiya Janata Party has announced a statewide Jan Ashirwad Yatra aimed at strengthening grassroots outreach and seeking public support for the upcoming polls.
Addressing the media, Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia said the yatra will commence on February 28 under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The campaign will be flagged off from the revered Gupteshwar Devalaya in the Dhekiajuli constituency and will travel across multiple states.
On the inaugural day, the yatra will traverse several key constituencies, including Dhekiajuli, Barsola, Tezpur, Naduar and Rongapara districts. The yatra will later extend into other regions, including Morigaon, Nagaon, Gohpur, Bihpuria, Dhemaji, Jonai, Tingkhong, Naharkatia, Golaghat, Digboi, Tinsukia, Nalbari and Rangia as part of subsequent phases to cover diverse parts of Assam.
The first phase of the yatra has been scheduled until March 8 or 9. Senior Cabinet Minister Ashok Singhal has been appointed chief convenor of the programme, with Union Minister and MP Pabitra Margherita and other senior leaders serving as co-convenors. The yatra is designed to take the party’s vision, achievements and developmental agenda to the grassroots and directly engage with voters.
According to party officials, the campaign aims to travel approximately 70–80 km each day and reach nearly one lakh people daily through interactions, meetings and public gatherings. Constituencies not directly covered in this first phase will be included through additional Jan Ashirwad Sabhas to ensure wide outreach across the state.
