The hosts post commanding win in Delhi to register India’s biggest-ever T20 World Cup margin and strengthen Group A position ahead of Pakistan clash

New Delhi: India produced a dominant all-round display to defeat Namibia by 93 runs in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group A clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, registering their biggest-ever victory margin by runs in the history of the tournament. Batting first, India piled up 209 for 9 in 20 overs before bundling out Namibia for 116 in 18.2 overs to seal a comprehensive win.

The innings was built on explosive contributions from the top and middle order, with Ishan Kishan setting the tone through a rapid 61 off just 24 balls, while Hardik Pandya added a powerful 52 off 28 deliveries to push the total beyond the 200-run mark. Their aggressive strokeplay ensured India maintained a high run rate throughout and left Namibia facing a daunting chase.
India’s bowlers then completed the job with a disciplined performance, as Varun Chakravarthy spun a web with figures of 3 for 7 and Pandya chipped in with two wickets to dismantle the Namibian batting line-up.

With this commanding win, India not only underlined their status as one of the tournament favourites but also built crucial momentum at a decisive stage of the group phase. The record 93-run margin, coupled with strong performances from both batters and bowlers, reflects a side peaking at the right time.
Having climbed to the top of Group A on net run rate, India will now turn their focus to the much-anticipated clash against arch-rivals Pakistan. A high-stakes encounter that could prove decisive in shaping their path to the Super Eight stage.
