Guwahati: Assam has reinforced its tough stance on border security, asserting that safeguarding the state is not a matter of debate but a necessity. While critics continue to question the measures, the government emphasised that prompt and decisive action remains its priority.
In the early hours today, authorities identified 16 illegal Bangladeshi nationals and swiftly pushed them back across the border as part of ongoing efforts to curb unlawful entry.
Officials said the state now operates on the “front foot,” focusing on immediate response rather than prolonged procedures to protect the motherland. The action reflects Assam’s continued commitment to maintaining law and order and strengthening border vigilance.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the action on his social media platform, emphasising the importance of firm enforcement and swift intervention to ensure Assam’s security and stability.
The government reiterated that firm enforcement and quick intervention are essential to ensuring the state’s security and stability.
