Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma dedicated multiple civic and sports projects to strengthen governance, public services and youth development in the district.

Nalbari: Nalbari witnessed a major push in infrastructure and sports development as Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated and dedicated several landmark public projects aimed at accelerating the district’s overall growth and improving civic facilities.
The projects include an Integrated District Commissioner’s Office built at a cost of Rs 49.45 crore, a modern Convention Centre constructed for Rs 17.95 crore, and an international-standard District Sports Stadium Complex developed at Rs 58.22 crore.

The Chief Minister also launched the state’s first Athletics Academy at the stadium complex under the aegis of the Assam Athletics Association to provide professional training and nurture emerging talent.
Highlighting the government’s vision of balanced regional development, the Chief Minister said robust infrastructure is key to efficient governance, better public services and expanded opportunities for youth. The new facilities are expected to enhance administrative functioning, host large public events and strengthen the district’s sporting ecosystem.

Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary was present at the inaugural programmes along with Cabinet colleague Jayanta Malla Baruah and other dignitaries, noting the enthusiasm and optimism among residents.
The initiatives form part of the state government’s broader commitment to ensuring holistic development and modern infrastructure across Assam, reinforcing Nalbari’s transformation into a growing administrative and sporting hub.
