After earlier applications were rejected, Siddharth Sharma makes another bid for release as legal proceedings in the case continue

Guwahati: Siddharth Sharma has once again approached the Gauhati High Court seeking bail in the case pending against him, making a renewed attempt to secure relief after previous applications were unsuccessful.
According to legal sources, Sharma filed a fresh bail petition on June 9, urging the court to reconsider his request while the case remains under judicial scrutiny. The matter has now been scheduled for hearing on June 19.
The latest move comes as Sharma continues to remain in custody during the ongoing legal proceedings. The High Court’s decision on the forthcoming hearing could significantly influence his status as the trial process advances.
While the contents of the new application have not yet been made public, the court is expected to examine the grounds presented by the defence during the hearing. Legal observers note that the fresh plea follows earlier efforts by Sharma to obtain bail, which did not receive judicial approval.
The case has drawn considerable public attention, and the upcoming hearing is likely to be closely watched by both legal and political circles.
For now, all eyes remain on the Gauhati High Court, which will take up the matter later this month and decide whether Sharma qualifies for interim relief pending further proceedings.
