Nagaon administration exempts residents within 7 km of Raha Toll Gate from toll charges for private vehicles

Nagaon: Residents living within a 7-kilometre radius of the Raha Toll Gate in Assam’s Nagaon district will be exempted from paying toll charges for their private vehicles, following a decision by the district administration.
The exemption was announced through a notification issued by Nagaon District Commissioner Devashish Sharma after local residents sought relief from toll payments.
Under the new arrangement, eligible residents can get toll passes for their personal vehicles and use the toll plaza without paying charges. Applicants must submit the required documents and details to the relevant toll plaza authority.
The arrangement has been introduced along similar lines to the toll exemption available to eligible local residents at the Sonapur Toll Gate. The district administration has directed toll gate authorities to facilitate the issuance of passes and ensure that eligible residents can avail themselves of the benefit.
The decision is expected to provide relief to people living in villages and areas within the designated 7-km radius, particularly those who frequently use the road for local travel.
