Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on April 11 visited the Akampat Relief Camp in Imphal East, where he met the family of a seven-year-old internally displaced girl who was raped and murdered. Interacting with displaced residents, the Chief Minister reviewed their concerns and directed officials to act swiftly on issues related to safety, living conditions, and rehabilitation. He emphasised that restoring dignity and stability for internally displaced persons remains a key priority.

The victim, originally from Moreh, had gone missing on April 4 and was later found dead a day later in Imphal West, triggering widespread concern over the safety of vulnerable communities in relief camps.
