Himashree Boro Death Case: New CCTV Shows Her Boarding Train Before Tragedy

New footage shows an unidentified man approaching Boro on the platform, while another video reportedly recorded by her during the journey has also surfaced

Guwahati: Fresh CCTV footage has emerged showing Himashree Boro, a 20-year-old woman from Assam, walking along a railway platform and boarding a departing train, days before her body was found beside a railway track in Andhra Pradesh.

In the footage, Boro is seen walking on the platform when an unidentified man approaches her and appears to try to speak to her. As the train begins to leave, she boards along with other passengers. The man also appears to attempt to board but later gets off.

Another short video, reportedly recorded by Boro during the journey and sent to a friend, shows her standing in the train aisle surrounded by several men. The identities of those seen in the video and the circumstances in which it was recorded remain unclear.

Boro, a student of B Borooah College, had travelled to Visakhapatnam on September 30 as part of an Assamese dance troupe. She was returning to Guwahati alone aboard the Dibrugarh-Kanyakumari Vivek Express when her family lost contact with her on October 6.

Her family later alerted railway authorities and police after finding her belongings in coach S2. They also alleged that some men travelling in the same coach had made obscene gestures towards her.

Boro’s body was subsequently recovered beside a railway track in Srikakulam district. Railway police are examining CCTV and other footage as part of the investigation. The exact circumstances of her death and whether anyone else was involved remain under investigation.
