At the 11th NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India’s economic resilience, cooperative federalism and the need for joint action to achieve Viksit Bharat@2047

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India continues to stand out as a global growth engine despite economic uncertainty across many major economies, while urging states to work closely with the Centre to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.

Chairing the 11th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog in New Delhi, Modi stressed that development must become a collective mission extending from states and districts to villages and local communities.

“The world is passing through a period of uncertainty and instability, yet India continues to move forward on its growth trajectory with confidence and determination,” the Prime Minister said.

The meeting, themed “Inclusive Human Development for Viksit Bharat@2047,” marked a significant milestone as chief ministers from all 28 states participated, ending a trend of boycotts and absences witnessed in recent years.

Highlighting opportunities arising from India’s recent trade agreements, Modi encouraged states to help youth and MSMEs tap global markets and attract investment from partner nations. He also called for greater focus on renewable energy, water conservation, natural farming and emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence and data centres.

The Prime Minister further urged states to tackle challenges like cyber fraud and drug abuse through coordinated governance and awareness initiatives. “The collective efforts of the Centre and States will play a pivotal role in realising our shared vision of Viksit Bharat,” Modi added.
