Gauhati High Court adjourned the hearing on Shyamkanu Mahanta’s bail plea in the Zubeen Garg death case till May 25 after the state sought more time

Guwahati: The Gauhati High Court on Friday postponed the hearing on the bail plea filed by Shyamkanu Mahanta in connection with the alleged Zubeen Garg death case, listing the matter for further hearing on May 25.
During the proceedings, senior advocate Pran Bora appeared on behalf of Mahanta and argued in favour of granting bail. He placed submissions before the court seeking relief for his client in the ongoing case.
Representing the state government, Advocate General Devajit Lon Saikia requested additional time to present the government’s response to the bail application.
After hearing submissions from both sides, the court adjourned the matter till Monday. The state is expected to place its arguments opposing the plea during the next hearing.
The case, which has drawn public attention in Assam, relates to the alleged death case involving Assamese singer Zubeen Garg.
