NDA 3.0 Pushes ‘Atmanirbhar Assam’ With Rs 5 Lakh Aid for 10 Lakh Youths

The NDA government outlined plans for youth entrepreneurship, tea worker welfare, healthcare expansion, heritage preservation and major infrastructure development across Assam.

Guwahati: Putting development, identity and self-reliance at the centre of its next term, the BJP-led NDA government has unveiled an ambitious roadmap for Assam under the “NDA 3.0” vision led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

A major focus of the upcoming term will be employment generation and youth empowerment. The government announced Rs 5 lakh financial assistance for 10 lakh youths to encourage entrepreneurship, strengthen local businesses and create wider economic opportunities. Calling it a mission for a stronger “Atmanirbhar Assam,” the NDA said the initiative aims to transform job seekers into job creators.

The government also promised continued welfare measures for tea garden workers, including a phased increase in daily wages to Rs 500. Additionally, 100 new model schools are set to be established in tea garden areas to improve educational access in remote communities.

Highlighting Assam’s cultural and civilisational legacy, the NDA said the next five years would focus on preserving sacred heritage sites and building world-class cultural infrastructure to promote the state’s identity nationally and globally.

Infrastructure and healthcare expansion are also expected to remain key priorities. The government plans major investments in roads, bridges, aviation and medical institutions, including new medical colleges and specialised academic programmes.

At the same time, the NDA reaffirmed its commitment to protecting Assam’s “Jati, Mati, Bheti,” announcing plans to reclaim 5 lakh additional bighas of encroached land across the state.
