Over 3.30 lakh students appear; Science leads performance as results declared at 10:30 am

Guwahati: The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) on Tuesday announced the Class 12 results for 2026, with the Science stream emerging as the top performer. Overall, 3,30,744 students appeared across Arts, Science, Commerce and Vocational streams.
In Science, 60,667 candidates took the exam, and 54,474 cleared it, recording an 89.79% pass rate. Among them, 34,079 secured first division, 17,777 second division and 2,618 third division.
Meanwhile, the Arts stream saw the highest participation, with 2,41,124 students appearing. Of these, 1,91,798 passed, resulting in a 79.54% success rate. Notably, 54,755 secured first division, 79,181 second division and 57,862 third division.
In Commerce, 19,469 students appeared and 15,796 passed, taking the pass percentage to 81.13%. The division-wise figures include 7,787 first division, 5,694 second division and 2,315 third division holders.
Similarly, the Vocational stream recorded a 74.20% pass rate, with 1,087 students clearing the exam out of 1,465 candidates. Among them, 92 secured first division, 701 second division and 294 third division.
At the district level, standout performances were recorded. Baksa topped Arts with 94.29%, Tamulpur led Science with 98.39%, while Majuli and South Salmara achieved a perfect 100% pass rate in Commerce.
