Organisers cite medical issues affecting band members; refunds assured as ‘Coming Home 2026’ India leg is scrapped

Shillong: The much-anticipated India tour of German rock band Scorpions has been called off after organisers confirmed “unforeseen medical issues” affecting some members of the group.
Announcing the decision, BookMyShow Live said all four scheduled concerts have been cancelled. The band was set to perform in Shillong on April 21, followed by shows in Delhi-NCR on April 24, Bengaluru on April 26, and Mumbai on April 30.
Organisers expressed regret over the development and apologised to fans for the disruption. However, they noted that the band remains “keen to return” to India once the members recover and schedules can be realigned.
Importantly, the tour was part of the band’s ‘Coming Home 2026’ series and was expected to mark their return to India after nearly two decades. The opening concert at Shillong’s JN Stadium had generated significant excitement, especially with support from Meghalaya Tourism and event partner The Circus.
Meanwhile, organisers confirmed that all ticket holders who booked through BookMyShow will receive automatic refunds within seven to ten working days.
The India leg was being hosted under ‘Bandland On Tour’, an extension of BookMyShow Live’s music platform. Although the cancellation has disappointed fans, organisers emphasised that the decision was necessary given the circumstances.
