Nagaon: Excitement and anticipation ran high in Nagaon on March 20 as two prominent leaders, MLA Rupak Sarma and BJP candidate Jitu Goswami, filed their nomination papers for the upcoming Assembly elections. The streets around the Nagaon District Commissioner’s office came alive with large processions, reflecting the strong support both leaders enjoy among their constituents.
Rupak Sarma, contesting from Nagaon–Batadroba, was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd reportedly exceeding 20,000 people.
