Arunachal CM Unveils New Administrative Block at Sera Jey Jamyang Choekhorling Monastery

Facility to improve administration, residential support and learning environment for monks and students

Tawang: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu attended the consecration and inauguration of the new Administrative Block of Sera Jey Jamyang Choekhorling Monastery in Tawang, marking a significant step toward strengthening institutional and educational facilities at the monastery.

The ceremony was held in the presence of Venerable Geshe Lobsang Norbu, Chief Administrator of Sera Jey Monastery in Karnataka, and His Eminence Dolhe Rinpoche Tenzin Kunkhyen, Abbot of the monastery, along with other dignitaries.

The newly built block is expected to enhance administrative efficiency, improve residential facilities, and create a better learning environment for monks and students. In addition, State Bank of India’s Tawang branch donated a school bus to support students’ transportation needs.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said monasteries remain vital centres of culture, discipline and compassion, adding that supporting such institutions is a shared responsibility to preserve the region’s spiritual and cultural heritage.
