Arunachal’s Himalayan landscapes and indigenous cultures hit OTT screens with ‘Himalayan Odyssey’

Three-part Prime Video documentary follows a 2,000-km road journey from Pangsau Pass to Bum La, showcasing the state’s landscapes, cultures, roads and frontier regions

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh’s mountains, indigenous cultures and expanding road network have taken centre stage on the global OTT platform with Himalayan Odyssey – Thrill Run, a three-part documentary now streaming on Prime Video.

The series follows an epic road journey along the Trans-Arunachal Highway from Pangsau Pass in the east to Bum La Pass near Tawang in the west. Motorsport driver Lakhpa Tsering leads the expedition alongside travellers driving high-performance cars, including the Ferrari 488 and Porsche 911 Carrera.

The documentary is based on the Arunachal Himalayan Odyssey – Thrill Run held in April 2025. The 10-day expedition covered around 2,000 km, featuring supercars from brands including Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bugatti, Audi and Porsche.

Across three episodes, the series explores Arunachal’s landscapes, indigenous communities and frontier regions. Episodes feature destinations including Ziro, Aalo, Sela Tunnel and Tawang Monastery, while also highlighting local enterprises, farming and the region’s historical and strategic significance.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu welcomed the documentary’s release, describing it as a showcase of the state’s landscapes, communities, culture, roads and frontier regions.
