Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet scraps the 80:20 recruitment arrangement, making APST or PRC and local dialect proficiency mandatory
Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet has scrapped the existing 80:20 reservation arrangement in government recruitment after approving the recommendations of the High Power Committee on eligibility criteria.
Under the revised framework, candidates applying for government jobs in the state will be required to possess an Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) certificate or Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC), as applicable. Proficiency in a local dialect will also be made a compulsory eligibility criterion for recruitment to government posts.
The Cabinet decision replaces the earlier 80:20 arrangement and introduces revised requirements aimed at ensuring that candidates meet prescribed indigenous and local eligibility criteria.
The changes are expected to significantly reshape the recruitment process for government posts in Arunachal Pradesh and could have implications for future job aspirants across the state.
