Actor and vlogger Ashish Vidyarthi, along with his wife Rupali Baruah, was hit by a speeding motorcycle while crossing the road near Zoo Tiniali; the biker was also seriously hurt
Guwahati: Bollywood actor and popular vlogger Ashish Vidyarthi and his wife, Rupali Baruah, were injured in a road accident late on Friday night in Guwahati’s Zoo Road area, police sources said.
The accident occurred around midnight in front of The Guwahati Address Hotel on Zoo Road, under the jurisdiction of Geetanagar police station. According to the police, the couple was hit by a speeding Avenger motorcycle bearing registration number AS-01-DY-5061 while they were crossing the road.
Sources said the motorcycle was coming from the Chandmari side at a high speed when it struck the couple, causing injuries to both Mr Vidyarthi and his wife. The motorcyclist also sustained serious injuries in the collision.
Police personnel from Geetanagar police station rushed to the spot soon after the incident. The injured biker was shifted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment, while the actor and his wife were also provided medical care.
According to sources, Mr Vidyarthi and Mrs Baruah had stepped out after having dinner at The Guwahati Address restaurant near Zoo Tiniali and were crossing the road when the accident took place.
Apart from his long career in films, Mr Vidyarthi has recently gained popularity as a food and travel vlogger. He has been posting videos of his travels across Assam and the Northeast on his YouTube channel, which has around 2.4 million subscribers.
