Search continued linked to disproportionate assets case against Assistant Engineer Sushil Kumar Tamuli; Radiant International School, Sonapur, allegedly connected to him

Sonapur: The Chief Minister’s Vigilance Cell on Saturday conducted a raid at Radiant International School in Sonapur, on the outskirts of Guwahati, as part of an ongoing investigation against a Panchayat and Rural Development (P&RD) Department engineer for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The operation is linked to a case against Sushil Kumar Tamuli, an Assistant Engineer in the P&RD Department. Vigilance officials stated the school is reportedly connected to Mr Tamuli. The raid comes days after the Vigilance Cell carried out searches at several of his properties in Guwahati.
According to official sources, the investigation also involves allegations that Mr Tamuli illegally occupied land meant for Financial Support (FS) grants. The vigilance team resumed its search operation at the Sonapur premises on Saturday morning to verify documents and gather further evidence.
A case has been registered against Mr Tamuli following a complaint filed by Dispur MLA Atul Bora. The case has been numbered 33/2025.
Sources said Mr Tamuli is accused of amassing substantial wealth through corrupt practices. He is currently absconding, and vigilance officials are continuing efforts to trace him and to uncover more details related to the alleged irregularities.
