Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Saturday inaugurated the Northeast’s first AI-enabled Career Intelligence Hub and formally opened the 32nd National Children’s Science Congress at Tamphasana Girls’ Higher Secondary School in Imphal.
The joint programme was organised by the Manipur Upliftment Centre and Samagra Shiksha Manipur under the Union Ministry of Science and Technology. Rajya Sabha MP A. Sharda Devi also attended the event.
Funded through the Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS), the new facility aims to integrate artificial intelligence into education and career guidance, helping students identify their abilities, explore career opportunities and develop skills for emerging professions.
Addressing the gathering, Singh highlighted the growing importance of artificial intelligence in transforming professional sectors and stressed the need to equip young people with relevant technological skills.
He also urged students and the public to prioritise peaceful dialogue over street protests during periods of crisis, emphasising the importance of constructive engagement in restoring peace in Manipur.
