Assam announces Gunotsav 2027 schedule, with the seventh edition to assess government schools across 35 districts from January 6 to February 5

Guwahati: The Assam government has announced the schedule for the seventh edition of Gunotsav, with the statewide school evaluation exercise set to be conducted across 35 districts in three phases between January and February 2027.
The first phase will take place from January 6 to 9 across 13 districts: Barpeta, Bajali, Karimganj, Kamrup (Metropolitan), Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Golaghat, Sivasagar, Udalguri, Jorhat, Karbi Anglong and South Salmara-Mankachar.
The second phase is scheduled from January 19 to 22 and will cover Baksa, Biswanath, Chirang, Charaideo, Dhubri, Hailakandi, Hojai, Kamrup, Sonitpur, Tamulpur, Tinsukia and West Karbi Anglong.
The final phase will be held from February 2 to 5 across Bongaigaon, Dhemaji, Darrang, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Cachar, Nalbari, Morigaon, Dima Hasao and Majuli.
Gunotsav is conducted to evaluate the performance of government schools, including learning outcomes, educational quality and infrastructure. The phased assessment will allow authorities to cover all participating districts according to a fixed schedule. The seventh edition will conclude on February 5, 2027.
