The Gauhati High Court has denied bail to Siddharth Sharma for the second time in connection with the Zubeen Garg case, directing that he remain in judicial custody

Guwahati: The Gauhati High Court rejected the bail plea of Siddharth Sharma for the second time in connection with the high-profile Zubeen Garg case, directing that the accused remain in judicial custody.
The order was passed by Justice Mitali Thakuria, who declined to grant bail after considering the case records, the submissions made by both sides and the overall circumstances of the matter.
The latest ruling marks the second rejection of Sharma’s bail application. His first plea had earlier been dismissed by a Fast Track Court. With the High Court refusing to grant relief, Sharma will continue to remain behind bars while the legal proceedings in the case move forward.
The Zubeen Garg case has remained under intense public and legal scrutiny since the singer’s death, with multiple accused facing separate proceedings. Earlier, the court had also refused bail to two of Garg’s bodyguards, while hearings in other related petitions, including those concerning frozen bank accounts, remain pending.
The High Court’s latest order means Sharma’s custody will continue until any further relief is granted by a higher court or through subsequent judicial proceedings. The investigation and trial in the case are continuing in accordance with the legal process.
