“Hindu-Muslim Ki Rajneeti Nahi Chalegi”: Pune Protest Marks Start of CJP’s Nationwide Campaign

Student-led campaign begins at Savitribai Phule Pune University; group seeks exam reforms and renews demand for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation

Pune: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) kicked off a nationwide campaign against alleged examination irregularities, launching its first major mobilisation from the campus of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) and unveiling an education reform manifesto aimed at addressing concerns raised by students across the country.

Led by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and joined by climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, the protest drew hundreds of participants and marked the beginning of a multi-city outreach programme that will culminate in a major gathering at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on June 20.

Presenting the group’s roadmap, Dipke said the manifesto focuses on tackling recurring issues such as question paper leaks, delays in result declarations, lack of transparency in recruitment and entrance examinations, and weak accountability within examination authorities.

“The protest will remain peaceful and within the constitutional framework. Our objective is to push for systemic reforms that protect students’ interests,” Dipke said. The campaign is scheduled to travel through cities including Lucknow, Jaipur, Amritsar and Bengaluru before reaching the national capital.

Meanwhile, CJP reiterated its demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, alleging that repeated examination-related controversies have affected millions of students.

Wangchuk, who joined the movement in Pune, called for greater accountability in education and governance, while organisers said the initiative seeks to build a broader national conversation around examination reforms and student welfare.

Meanwhile, Dipke said he will travel to Lucknow next as the campaign expands nationwide. “After two successful peaceful protests in Delhi and Pune, I am leaving for Lucknow. Will join the students there tomorrow to demand resignation of Education Minister,” he posted on X.
