Initiatives aim to strengthen rural credit, boost agri-business and empower tribal communities across Manipur

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh attended the NABARD State Credit Seminar at Sangai Hall today as the Chief Guest, officially launching the State Focus Paper 2026–27. The document lays out a strategic framework to strengthen rural credit delivery, enhance agri-business, and drive inclusive economic growth throughout the state.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of financial inclusion for agriculture, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and rural infrastructure, stating that the State Focus Paper will provide a roadmap for sustainable development.

In addition, CM Singh virtually inaugurated the TRIBES Project in Churachandpur, a flagship initiative aimed at the socio-economic upliftment and empowerment of tribal communities. The project seeks to enhance livelihoods, improve access to resources, and support inclusive growth for the state’s tribal population.
“These initiatives reflect our collective commitment to building a financially empowered, resilient, and inclusive Manipur where every section of society is enabled to grow and prosper,” the Chief Minister said.
The seminar and the TRIBES Project launch underscore the state government’s focus on integrating rural credit with targeted socio-economic development, positioning Manipur for stronger financial inclusion and broader economic progress.
