An amount of Rs 2.2 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Special Fund helps a young triathlete from Golaghat receive a high-performance bicycle for training

Guwahati: The Government of Assam has extended financial support to a promising young athlete as part of its efforts to promote sporting talent in the state.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Rs 2.2 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Special Fund has been approved for Anushka Goswami, a Class XII student and emerging triathlete from Golaghat.
With the sanctioned funds, the Golaghat district administration has provided her with a high-performance bicycle to strengthen her training and improve her preparation for competitive events. The support is expected to help the young athlete enhance her performance in triathlon competitions, which require endurance across swimming, cycling, and running disciplines.
Chief Minister Sarma also conveyed his best wishes to the young sportsperson, expressing hope for her bright future in athletics. The gesture reflects the state government’s continued commitment to nurturing young talent and encouraging youth to pursue excellence in sports.
Officials said the initiative highlights Assam’s broader efforts to empower promising athletes by providing them with the resources needed to compete at higher levels and represent the state with pride.
